We like to think of you as "Ignitors"! Your feedback as a beta user is incredibly valuable as it helps us identify any potential issues, improve user experience, and make any necessary adjustments before the full launch. By participating as a beta user, you will play a crucial role in shaping the future of MyBeacon App and have the chance to influence the direction of the platform.     MyBeacon is a social network app centered on ACTION - cutting through the chaos of scattered communication. Whether you are dealing with a major life event or looking for a little support, MyBeacon tackles the logistics so you can focus on what matters most: showing up for your people. No more juggling messages, emails, and group texts when you just need a helping hand. MyBeacon makes it clear what is needed in any circumstance. Stop herding cats or holding your breath for responses – you’ve got an easy way to ask for what you need. CAUTION: MyBeacon usage may result in a significant reduction in doom scrolling, saving money on your next ride, enjoying a meal delivered by an old friend, and building a stronger, more connected community.   • How can I become a MyBeacon Ignitor?
    Everyone who participates in MyBeacon beta will have the opportunity to sign up as an Ignitor! We will be relying heavily on our early adopters and ambassadors to help shape MyBeacon so that we can build the tools that you need to strengthen your communities. We will be sending more information about the Ignitors program, as well as other opportunities to participate / provide feedback, to our registered users in the coming weeks.   • Who can use MyBeacon?
    MyBeacon is currently available to users who live in the United States and are 17+ years of age using devices supported by iOS or Android operating systems.
  • Is MyBeacon available on both iOS and Android?
    YES! We know the drill -- there is nothing more frustrating when you are trying to coordinate help than to learn that your magical new app is limited to one app store. That's why we made sure to cover the bases -- MyBeacon app is currently available for beta users inGoogle Play AND Apple App Store.
  • How much does MyBeacon cost?
    We’re just getting started! MyBeacon is currently free to all users. Want to help support our mission? Opportunities to contribute will be announced on our socials. Be sure to follow us on socials to track our progress and get the latest updates. You can also join our mailing list if you want to be the first to know about upcoming events, product updates, opportunities to give insider feedback and other news!
  • How do I create an account?
    Download and install MyBeacon app from Google Play OR Apple App Store Open MyBeacon app on your mobile device You can choose to create an account using your existing Google or Apple account information OR select the “Create Account” at the bottom of the login page to manually enter your Email address and Password. If you manually enter your email address, you will receive an email with a confirmation code. Enter the code to verify your email address and complete account registration. If you chose to set up your account using one of the other methods, you will not need to verify your email address. Once your account has been verified, you will be prompted to enter your birth month and year. MyBeacon app is currently offered to users 17+ years of age. Next: Complete required information to set up your user profile. Note required fields are indicated with an asterisk. Users are required to provide: profile image, first name, last name, and a custom user handle. Only your image, name and user handle will be visible to other users. Support Preferences: All users are asked to select at least one preference from “How I like to GIVE support” and “How I like to RECEIVE support”. These can be modified at any time in Settings. Your selected preferences will be visible on your profile.
  • What should I do if I forgot my password?
    Go to the login screen and click “Forgot Password”. You will be sent a verification link to the email address you used to set up your account. Click the link provided in your email and follow the steps to create a new password. NOTE: An account password is only required for accounts that were set up using an email address. If you set up your account using your Google or Apple credentials, password recovery will not be applicable; we do not store 3rd party information.
  • How do I add people to my network?
    Adding people to your network is easy! Tap “Network” located on the bottom right of the navigation bar. There are 2 tabs on your Network page: “Supporters” and “Supporting”. On the “Supporters” tab, tap the “Share My Profile” button. Tap to “Copy Link” and open the messaging app of your choice to paste the link. Customize this message however you’d like before sending! This allows anyone with your link to view your profile. From your profile, they can request to join your network OR / and +Add to [their] Network. Why the extra step? This protects your privacy, as well as ensures you are only adding people to your network that you intended. [No creepers allowed.]
  • How do I know who is in my network?
    Your “Network” page can be accessed from the main navigation bar (bottom right icon). There are 2 tabs on your Network page: “Supporters” and “Supporting”. Members that have accepted invitations will show on these pages. If you have sent invitations to people that are not showing up in this list, try checking the invitation status by navigating to your Notifications page (bell icon located on top right of your Home page). Tap “Invitations” at the top of your Notifications page to see the full list of members with invitation status. Keep in mind that MyBeacon has a double opt-in requirement for all network invitations. This means when you invite someone to your network (Supporter), they will be presented with the option to Accept or Decline the invitation. If no action has been taken, status will show as pending. Conversely, in order to become a Supporter, you will need to be invited by a given user. To streamline the process,, MyBeacon offers every user the option to “Add Back” when accepting an invitation. The recipient will still need to Accept or Decline the invitation, however this allows for the invitation to be sent in-app, as opposed to initiating via SMS.
  • How do I share my profile?
    Sharing your profile is quick and easy! Tap your profile image from the Home page. Locate the "share" icon at the top, right of your screen. Tap "Copy Link" button from the Share Profile screen Navigate to the app of your choosing to create your personal message. Paste the link in your post (or message) and send! Anyone with the link can view your profile. But rest assured, we've got your personal safety covered - no one can join your network without your approval! Be sure to check your notifications to manage all network requests.
  • What is a Beacon?
    Think of a Beacon as a signal. It can be used to create a Request or an Offer. This is where the action happens. REQUESTS When a Beacon Request is activated, you are letting your network know that you're looking for help or support. You can customize each Beacon based on your personal preferences. We know different circumstances or life events can change who and what you are comfortable sharing. That's why we made it easy for you to control things like: Beacon visibility (private vs. network), who can add action items and the ability to manage access levels for individual members. Each Beacon is intended to let your selected support crew know what's on your plate and how they can show up for you! There's nothing too big or too small. Action Items are created within the Beacon so that your support crew can volunteer - everyone easily sees what's covered and what is still needed. And if you don't know exactly what you need, no problem! Just give a brief description of what you're dealing with and let other Beacon Members add Action Items as suggestions. You can keep / delete / modify any Action Items based on your needs. OFFERS Think of Offers like a personalized, thoughtful coupon book. Do you know someone who is dealing with something but hesitant to ask for help? Whether it's a new baby, moving or getting ready for a job interview - you can create a special offer to help with house chores or review a resume. Get creative! All that special someone has to do is "Accept" or "Decline" - it takes the pressure off of everyone and raises the love vibes across the board.
